Il Green Deal europeo ha posto le politiche verdi al centro dell\u2019agenda politica dell\u2019Unione, ma la sua impostazione \u00e8 stata recentemente messa in discussione da molteplici fattori esogeni ed endogeni, che hanno reso necessaria una riflessione pi\u00f9 articolata del rapporto tra tutela dell\u2019ambiente e competitivit\u00e0. Il lavoro mette in luce come la rinnovata attenzione alla sostenibilit\u00e0 economica e alla semplificazione normativa, che emerge dai pacchetti Omnibus, anzich\u00e9 configurarsi come uno strumento di maggiore efficienza regolatoria, rischi di tradursi in una riduzione sostanziale degli obiettivi e dei principi ambientali. Nondimeno, il lavoro sottolinea come l\u2019Unione abbia sostanzialmente mantenuto la propria \u201cvisione\u201d ambientale anche nell\u2019attuale fase di pi\u00f9 debole slancio politico, nella prospettiva di rafforzare il suo ruolo nella governance globale della sostenibilit\u00e0 e di sostenere il percorso di costruzione della sua autonomia strategica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract (ENG)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This piece examines the evolution, within EU law, of the dichotomy between environmental protection and economic competitiveness. The European Green Deal has placed green policies at the centre of the Union\u2019s political agenda, yet its framework has recently been challenged by multiple exogenous and endogenous factors, necessitating a more nuanced reflection on the relationship between environmental protection and competitiveness. The paper highlights how the renewed focus on economic sustainability and regulatory simplification, as reflected in the Omnibus packages, risks translating into a substantial reduction of environmental objectives and principles, rather than serving as a tool for greater regulatory efficiency.
