EMANUELA DE FALCO, Protecting air passengers for connecting flight delays: new insights from the Flightright ruling

ABSTRACT – This paper examines the Flightright ruling in light of previous case law regarding Regulation 261/2004. In particular, on one hand, the analysis focuses on how the Court of Justice seized the opportunity to significantly expand airline passenger guarantees, by clarifying the notions of “connecting flight” and “single reservation”. On the other hand, it investigates the extent to which the Court of Justice extended compensatory liability.
