ABSTRACT – On November 4th 2024, the European Commission issued an opinion under Article 6 (2) of the Directive (EU) 2015/153 on Italy’s draft law on artificial intelligence, highlighting several inconsistencies with EU Law. The present work first examines the specific criticisms raised within the opinion and then explores other potential areas of non-compliance. Finally, it offers a critical assessment of the overall legal soundness of the draft law.
