Abstract (ITA)
Il contributo si sofferma sulle migrazioni via mare nel Mediterraneo e va ad analizzare il ruolo dell’Unione europea con riguardo: a) alle attività di ricerca e soccorso e al trattamento riservato ai naufraghi; b) alle misure di solidarietà nei confronti degli Stati maggiormente esposti agli arrivi via mare; c) alla criminalizzazione della solidarietà dei privati. L’indagine viene condotta anche alla luce del pacchetto di misure, allegate al Patto su immigrazione e asilo, adottate nella primavera 2024 e alle proposte attualmente in discussione.
Abstract (ENG)
This contribution focuses on migration by sea in the Mediterranean and analyses the role of the European Union with regard to: a) search and rescue activities and the treatment of shipwreck survivors; b) solidarity measures concerning the Member States most exposed to arrivals by sea; and c) the criminalisation of search and rescue activities carried out by NGOs. The investigation is also conducted in light of the package of measures, attached to the Pact on Immigration and Asylum, adopted in spring 2024, and the proposals currently under discussion.
