Who Should attend?
- Researchers & Students interested in EU criminal justice

After more than two decades of academic exchange, the ECLAN Summer School is back with an enhanced curriculum and dynamic in-person sessions. In light of the rapid and continuing development of EU criminal law, the summer school offers a tailored program that combines foundational courses with specialised sessions addressing its key dimensions, mechanisms, and institutional actors.
Each year, the program highlights a special thematic focus. This year’s Summer School will focus onEU procedural rights. The courses will explore the harmonisation of EU procedural rights and its interaction with other legal areas and jurisdictions. Special attention will be given to the adequacy of EU procedural safeguards in the digital age. The program will also address highly topical issues such as procedural guarantees in cross-border investigations and the exchange of evidence, as well as the responsibility of EU agencies and bodies with regard to the rights of defence, before reflecting on the future of procedural rights within the European Union. As part of the program, participants will also be invited to attend the traditional Evening Conference, where leading scholars and practitioners will discuss current challenges and developments in European criminal law.”
